Double Jaw Surgery: Approximately 5–6 hours
The duration varies depending on the complexity of the case and surgical planning.
In some occlusal cases, temporary jaw fixation or elastic guidance may be required for 2–3 weeks to support healing and bite stabilization.
In most patients, sensation gradually improves over 3–6 months. In rare cases, some degree of numbness may persist permanently.
Other uncommon risks include infection, bleeding, delayed healing, relapse, or bite changes, all of which are carefully monitored and managed during follow-up care.
